As I sat down on the plane, in what seemed like an uneventful day, I heard the very quiet voice of God say, “There is an angel on the airplane.” It is easy to ignore God’s voice, normally quiet and still. He often insults our intelligence and our worldview. Yet, I listened this time.

Expect more from God. That is the message from God today.
He is God. He is awesome, powerful and majestic, yet loving, gentle and kind beyond words. Ask Him for things but also expect them. As you get to know him, you will know what He might not give that you ask for and what He will give. Dare to believe God for something really big, especially if you sense His favor, His desire for it. It was once said, “If you sense the favor of God, go for the jugular.”

“So, the preparation is to want My change, not fight it; to embrace the new things I am doing and in new ways. Some will disagree. That is like the group in a bike race called the Peleton. It is safe to ride in that group. However, no one can win the race in the peleton. The winners must break out. That is not “safe” the way it feels, but it gives freedom to those who are willing to go away from the place called “safe” that is really a prison.”

Here we have toys, some of which are posing as real things in life but are not. We also have a sheriff, posing as a terrorist, or a terrorist posing as a sheriff!. He is attacking people with plastic toys. All of this is opposite the way life should be.

The Lord is saying that he wants to talk to his children. He was sad that they are like sheep without a shepherd. He wants to call them to himself.

If I want to praise my wife I do not usually say, “Praise the wife.” I will usually say something I love about her. That is true for praising anyone with whom I have relationship. “I really love how you look today” or “You are an excellent writer, one of the best.” How about simply say, “You are so beautiful!” How about “you light up the room when you enter. We would all miss something if you were not here.” Or maybe, “You are a great observer and listener. That is so important to real friendship.”

Like the growth of a hardwood tree that bears nuts, hundreds of pounds of rich nutritious food, sometimes healing of a heart takes time. Yet the time gives a structure that does not need support: there is inner strength that makes it stand alone like a tree planted by a river!

And the doubling of Pharaoh’s dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it about. Genesis 41:32 ESV

On June 26, 2009, I dreamed similar dreams the same night. They were important to me.
