Delilah’s Delights
I dreamed some kids went into my safe, upstairs in my house, inside my office, and took things that were secret. These “kids” knew me and had gotten ministry from me. I heard, too late, that they had taken the information, important secrets of power in ministry, and headed to a place called “Delilah’s Delights.”
Wrenching with concern, I looked at my safe. The papers were gone. I knew in the dream that these people were my spiritual family, God’s future servants, but they were not ready for the place they sought. So, I sprinted to the place and looked to find them on the path. I was too late.
Ahead of me, slightly below on the seacoast, the beach anchored lovely multi-colored tents of different sizes. On the edge of the beach, where the grass began, I saw a fence. Guarding the fence stood a large black man in a T-shirt with a menacing stare at me. He guarded the only gate to “Delilah’s Delights” and it was a gap in a barbed-wire fence.
I was angry and said I was coming in, but only in my eyes. Fierce anger shot at the man from my eyes and he felt it. He called for help on his cell phone and I knew he was getting help as I crossed the line between my territory and his. I steeped back across into my own field again. I suddenly realized that this setup was phony. It looked as if he was attempting to hinder entrance to the attractive resort. Actually, it was the opposite. I “knew” in the dream-a word of knowledge and wisdom from God- that I was keeping him out. Power was given to me that he could not deal with. He was faking, trying to draw people out of that power and into his prison that looked like a fun place.
So, I drew back and he also drew back into this carnival looking “bait” that attracted foolish and naive Christians. I also knew I was safe in the place God had for me but I was powerless to go inside, just as Samson was when he went outside the boundaries of his calling and gave his secrets to Delilah.
This dream actually happened in reality soon after. I saw some of my proteges in Christ, people who were being equipped by God for the coming great harvest, get trapped in a worldly scheme. The dream gave me great comfort, as I knew to some extent what to do. I had power and used it in prayer. The kids had to choose to come out. After some serious damage, they all came back out. All are walking with God. We all learned to stay in our boundaries and not get ahead of God. We all wanted to usher in the new Awakening expected by us all. We were not ready. We need to get ready.
I also knew this: Samson only had to NOT give away his secrets, he only had to keep the vows of a Nazirite: no alcohol, no haircut and never touch a dead body. He disobeyed on all three counts and the entire nation waited for yet another savior from the Phlistines for many years. Delilah was not supposed to be in his life. God gave him a Philistine wife already and she was killed. Now he wanted another of his choice, not of God’s. Delilah got the secrets from Samson by badgering him constantly like a dripping faucet until he sold out his assignment to God from weariness and told her. She betrayed him.
This dream gave me comfort in trouble. It also is a clear lesson that we must stay with our callings and not falter. We must know what they are and the timing must be God’s. Then we must stand firm in our power and not give it away to our enemy who is attempting to fool us. Permanent structure cannot be built on a beach. The following passage had power in light of the dream, as the attack was a worldly person attempting to be “Father” to kids but was not. He tempted them with money or whatever they wanted to hear with false promises. Only God can be our true father, but he is not living in a phony carnival atmosphere:
“What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
“I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:17-18
(Editors note: this passage is a requote from Isaiah 52:11; Ezekiel 20:34, 41; 2 Samuel 7:14)
This dream is powerful and has many applications to your lives, too. Give some comments about what you see in it. It is for us all perhaps. Bob

Dear Bob:
Dreams are tricky 2interpret by others. Symbolism is usually very personal to dreamer. In this case, I hear you saying you feel directed to stay away from what appear to be “delights” but in fact, like Delilah in the bible are tempting dangers to be averted. If the symbolism of Delilah is a person in your Christian family, then it is very, very sad, but God KNOWS BEST. That your revelation indicates much that is a secret and of value to you has been stolen from you is also anxiety provoking and even tragic!
You also seem to be saying what you once believed to be real has turned out to be a ‘phony carnival’, and here again, very sad. Also that the realization of a dream you imagined was pre-mature as those who would walk this dream with you are declared not ready. Unfortunate.
However, be glad for the warning! Greater harm has been
averted. By arming you with this knowledge, God has protected not only you, but your physical family and friends close to you.
Indeed only God is our father. I may not have grasped the full meaning of the revelation you have received, but perhaps enough to know the gist of the message you’re trying to get across.
Best wishes to you in realizing all that God desires to see manifest through your service. May He continue to bless you.
Praise God Always!
Greetings Bob,
Once again, as I read your post I find myself reflecting and indetifying with various “Traps” that I have fallen into along the path of life.
The most significant part of this post for me is in your words: “I ‘Knew’ in the dream-a word of knowledge and wisdom from God-that I was keeping him out.Power was given to me that he could not deal with.”
Far be it from me to dictate the fine points of biblical doctrine, however, I clearly interpret your experience as a clear indication of you being indwelt by the holy spirit and the empowerment that comes along with it. You were able to avoid the “Trap” that was layed out to deceive you and tempt you otherwise.
Another reminder of how important Eph.5:18 is “Be filled with the spirit”. The world is certainly not a playground or a carnival. It’s a down-right battlefield full of constant attacks. We as followers of Christ, must remain spirit-filled and operating within the confines of his boundaries and guardrails that are put in place for the sole purpose of remaining obedient to his command and abiding in his word.
Thanks Again Bob for tearing off another little piece of yourself and sharing it with all of us.

I did not properly communicate the interpretation of the dream. I find my posts get long when I do too much of that. Perhaps I should just forget what others say, “If you go longer than so many words people will not read it.” And, I could write better! The dream was about others that I was ministering to being tempted and taken in. I was not. I might have been without the dream but I doubt it. It actually was a word from God that I was about to be attacked through the people I ministered to at the time through the healing of the broken hearts.
Much was not stolen and given away but nearly was. Sorry to alarm you. It was a close call. People can misuse the power and authority of God. That was the case here. Someone claimed to be “Father” but was a false one. It did not work. But, God was encouraging me to remain cautious about sharing His secrets of healing with people who would use it wrongly! It nearly happened but did not! Thank you for caring. There are false prophets, false teacher and false people who purposely attack us. Jude is the little one chapter book dealing with this.
Everything was good. It was not my physical family. Blessings, Kirsten, Bob
This is not a theological forum, Melinda! Fear not. It is all about being filled with the Spirit and not with the spirit of the world. You got that part. A trap is an unrecognized attack. We need to know that some will be trapped. On Twitter I read a quote, “The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.” Funny but a proverb for this dream. Bob
Hey BB-
It was great to start the day with a good read-your sharing & giving is wonderful to know.
Knowing it should be our desire to keep in the timing of God, plus there is restoration for those who turn back to our Father, overall put a smile on my heart :D
in the power of the Spirit~

this dream means to me that the enemy is constantly looking for ways to hinder what God has promised to us….we have to be always on the lookout
Bob:
Thanks 4taking the time 2reply. Absolutely ignore standard fare re magical number of words 4perfect blog post. No such thing. Must depend on who is writing and who your readers are. You know your readers seek your teaching! More importantly the subject matters as well. Some things can be said in a paragraph. Others, best if you take a few more lines to elaborate.
To be perfectly honest, this post is still ‘code’ 2me. Will return and read 2see if I can get a better grasp. Clearly you see that it has application for all our lives and it can’t be the revelation bc only God has control of that. So how is it broadly applicable? Only we can answer by examining our lives, but also by understanding and picking up on nuances that have not yet stepped out to greet me :-)… they’ll come around :-)
Many blessings, divine love and light to you! You remain my brother in Christ! (Gives me such joy 2say this and 2know this, albeit, cyber reality.)
Kirstin
Thank you Mark. That hits it on the strategic point. I appreciate your coming by and commenting. Come and speak again. Bob

Renato:
I am so moved by this post, I don’t know WHAT to say! You could not have been more direct, but I want to know how best to hear His voice and How best to surrender to His spirit 4nothing would please/honor me more than to be “one flesh” with the son of God! I read my bible and speak his promises. Is this practice sufficient to hear His whispers? Any suggestions at all? I would be ever so grateful to you or to Bob for any comments.
Peace be unto you!
Kirsten
I suggest to all that they read & react with faith into Psalm 34. Fear must be removed as in this passage. Then shame. Then the angel of the Lord (trans. angels or angel) “surrounded his heart and delivered him from everything.” We must take our hearts from the false security guards of fear and shame-ask God to remove them and he will. Then we must truly give our hearts to God for healing and for service: making out heart and body a living sacrifice. Then trust that He means in reality what this classic song means to all generations.
This is a quote from my post Ambush in the Healing Trees that speaks to this for your review.
Ambush in the Healing Trees has some comment on this in the last few paragraphs. We must press into Psalm 34, a song for all generations. We have broken things in our hearts and must let God fix them. We cannot heal our own hearts and are bogged down in mud as a Body trying desperately to do so. Fear and shame must be removed by God. Ask Him. Then give your heart to him for healing: “the angels (angel of the Lord then surrounded him and delivered him from everything.” We must accept the angels as God’s appointed intsrument for healing and deliverance. We might never see them, but the Holy Spirit assigns them to this and they take us through process to heal. Follow the lead. You will know. Bob
