Expect More From God

26 July 2009 No Comment

Expect more from God. That is the message from God today.

He is God. He is awesome, powerful and majestic, yet loving, gentle and kind beyond words. Ask Him for things but also expect them. As you get to know him, you will know what He might not give that you ask for and what He will give. Dare to believe God for something really big, especially if you sense His favor, His desire for it. It was once said, “If you sense the favor of God, go for the jugular.”

What are those things He is going to always favor? If you are reaching out to the poor, the downcast, the harassed, the sheep without a shepherd, the orphan, the widow, the person living in a foreign culture, the homeless, the blind or the naked: favor will accompany you. I have never met anyone who visited a prison who did not agree with this by experience. The miracles will always be available, but this is where they magnify, intensify and come easier.

If you are one of these people, expect that you will see amazing things as well! If you are sick, afflicted, old, crippled, hungry or anything else that reduces your power, then expect even more from God. Jesus said if you served someone like this, it was as if you served Him. In addition, if that is true, then look at all the power that accompanied Jesus everywhere and for what it was used. Then realize that if it is as if you are serving Him, then He IS there!

Look for God in everything and you will find Him. Listen for Him to speak to you and you will hear him. Listen with all your senses, not just your ears, and you will sense Him. Rest.

Read Isaiah 58 and Matthew 6
