God is Raising the Bar

9 August 2009 3 Comments

Last week I had a vision: it was a picture of a bar. Before you go laughing, it was a high jump bar. I knew God was speaking to me through this so I stopped my neighborhood walk and pressed into the picture for a moment, still in the night.

At first I saw just a high jump bar, but then the picture changed looking like a complete high jump apparatus. In this second scene, the bar appeared to be even bigger and stronger. I immediately began to interpret this scene and sought God’s counsel on this. It was a Holy moment to me. Today He said I should blog it and share it with you.

It is a word of wisdom for all believers. The followers of the Way, the Church, the Body of Christ are facing a raised bar-a higher standard. In the second scene the bar is actually on a standard as if in a competition. It was higher than people could jump without help.

I prayed and asked God: am I not measuring up, or is this a sign that I would need help for my next assignment? I sensed in my mind’s ear God was saying the latter for me. However, it is now clear after praying through this that God is raising the bar for everyone now.

I got confirmation on this by opening an e-mail the next day from someone I don’t know and have never met. The title to the article was: “Raising the Bar.” It was essentially what I am writing to you and I had already journaled it from my prayer time that morning! That person had a similar vision.

What does this mean? He is no longer going to allow you, anyone else or me to serve Him with a lower standard. He will not let us get away with it any longer. God was speaking to me that he was making assignments to people and to me. These assignments will require supernatural favor. Angels will have to lift me over the bar. We are in a new era- a new phase- and he has upped the standard.

I am going to send out several short blogs this week attempting to make clear what is different about this time in history from other times. This first one is clear. He is not going to allow us to get away with things we once did; using our own strategies, serving our own selfish desires or ignoring God’s agenda for mine–that is over. If we do not press in and ask God what his agenda is and do it, we will be left behind. This is not about just the little things. He is speaking about offering our bodies as a living sacrifice daily for use by Him. Now.

This is a positive message. It means we can strip ourselves of the terrible burdens we took on and simply take on his burden. He said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He is giving us good news. The burdens that are breaking us down will do so completely and soon. However, we can throw them off and take on His.

That is why God is shaking the world and will let it continue until he has achieved his purpose. It is meant for a blessing so rejoice with me and with God that it is now time to jump over a bar– the one we cannot jump over without the help of the Angels. He is bringing a choice of living supernaturally or being left behind. Fear not and go with God.

He is going to give us outrageous things to do; at least in scope and ability we will be out of our league. Fear not and go with God. God is always on the move so do not be left behind. People who do not do this will be bitterly disappointed. The ones who do will be delighted beyond measure.

Hi Bob, Thank you for sharing this message and for planning a series of messages this week about raising the bar. This is such an important message to get out and for people to understand. God’s children must change their behavior and priorities. I agree with what Tami said above. Keep feeding God’s sheep. I look forward to your posts. Blessings, Randy
