Stunned in Wonder: A Dream

I dreamed some years ago the most amazing dream of my life. I have kept this one off the blog as it was so profoundly personal and holy, I feared some would make it about me or misinterpret it as self serving. Today, He suggested that I send it out I sensed:

“I stood in the air above the earth and with a childlike attitude. God spoke to me; I could not see Him but it was as if we were best friends. He said, “Would you like to see the people that will come to know Christ through your family (he used my family name!) Then something important was added. God showed me that there would be three families-the other two were not named. So, an alliance, a unity must occur with my family and others for this to occur.

I said, “Yes, Lord, that would be neat.” So, a telescoping sort of viewer appeared and started zooming into the earth. I looked through it and saw a giant, I mean as big as I have ever seen worldwide, convention center-a meeting place. Then the zoom continued in through the roof and I saw the place full. There were thousands of people there. They sat there in family groupings it appeared. I could tell this particularly easily as half of the people were dark skinned and the other half were light skinned.

Again like a child, I said what now seems like a stupid question to ask Almighty God, “Are you sure, Lord, that these people are going to come to Christ through my family and our alliances?” So, God did something really funny. It was not funny in the dream, but now it seems amusing to me. He said as if through a microphone, “Are all of you sure it is through this  ___  family that you are here?”

The people had clipboards and notes. They looked at the notes and at each other shaking their heads in the affirmative and then called back to God, “Yes, definitely it is that particular family. They all sat is groups, and again skin color helped me sort out the groups. There would be three rows of one family, then two people. Then there would be eight-it was random in number with very large groupings and very small ones. They were all dressed in clothing you might see anywhere on the earth-work clothes and casual wear. The rows were so long I could not count them even though they were separated by aisles.

I said to God, “I am amazed, Lord. I grew up in a place that separated dark and light skinned people, and I still have very few “black” friends. Yet half of these people are ‘black.’ How can it be? Yet I thank you  as you are saying it! This amazes me and gives me so much joy.”

Then the voice of the Lord said, “But there is more. Do you want to see that, too?”

I gave the obvious yes, and the telescope rose above that convention hall and I could see another one. It was also filled in the same fashion. I just was overflowing with joy. I said, “Lord this is wonderful!!” He said, “But there is still more.” As the lens rose into the sky, I was now able to see convention centers next to one another, lined as far as the eye could see into the horizon! I will never forget that moment in the dream. I was stunned in wonder!”

Last night on a walk, God said, “Post the dream about unity.” I could not remember one. Then this one came to mind in meditation and I realized I had so much joy about the numbers I forgot about the organization of the dream: the whole thing was family units cooperating to bring other family units to Jesus. I realize how much more God sees us as a safe and fertile reproductive family units that we do. Remember his desire, yet demand in Malachi repeated in Luke 1? He wants our hearts to reach to the generations and to the children, spiritual and real. This dream did this for me for my life.

We cannot get into the new harvest until we love and unify. The idea of unity is a non-negotiable. We must get over it and be uncomfortable until it fits well.

And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2 ESV

And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Acts 16:33 ESV

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters (family), by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. 1 Cor. 1:10 ESV

I love the picture of the mama duck and little of baby ducks! nicely fitting. thank you for sharing this dream – it’s very moving and encouraging. The older I get the more I realize how important family is and how powerfully the Kingdom of God is advanced through strength of unity in families.

It was a powerful dream, Rod. I did not mention it, but each of the few times I ever told of this dream I had tears of joy. I realized today this is a dream about you and your family, and others who read this and their families. God is laying down for us millennia of preparation for the largest group of belivers in one generation by a hundred of more, and we do not deserve it. It is a gift! Wow, what a promise. So, take if for your clan, too! Bob

Thanks, Corina, for summing this up so well, and so succinctly, “…how powerfully the Kingdom of God is advanced through strength of unity in families.”

Spot on: UNITY is a key to revival – and the breakup of “the family” is a tool of the Evil One who would destroy the metaphor that God has given us for His Family. LOVED that picture introducing your vision from the Lord. It is interesting that technology – like Twitter – may be a tool for spreading the Good News!

Thanks, Griff, for your spot on comment! I agree about the internet. I feel God created it to bring about what the dream envisioned for all our families. I see so much good can redeem something so dangerous otherwise. Bob

Thank you. David that is so amazing what you said. The family words cannot elude us! Father, brother. Thanks for your blog on family healing and the role of the Father. Keep me posted. I am not sure I am getting updates. I forget who I signed up to receive notices but I want yours. Great to hear! Bob

    Bob:

Another powerful message! I thank you. I can relate to this message on so many levels.

I will need to think some more about my own understanding of what God desires to see in our family life.

Stay well and may you always continue to have His blessings in your life!

Bob, this is such a powerful dream, but you are aligning your family with others at this very moment for the fulfillment. God is giving you the internet to send this message of family unity to the world. And at the same time He has spoken Mal 4:6 into the hearts of Advent Films for the basis of the upcoming movie “One Good Man.” He is in control and he is uniting his army. Unity is the key!

Remember Kirsten, Jesus said each time about family, so we could understand His heart, “Behold your Mother,” and “Behold, your son.” John 19. This was speaking to our relationship to believers, the highest and truest family. God loves physical families and is going to heal whole families at a time. However, “The people who hear the Word of God and obey it, they are my mother and brothers!” We will pray for all of this for you. You are important to all.
    Bob

I had a similar dream about a month ago. In it, I heard the Spirit say that God’s family is not the same color as your family, and will not look the way you expect it to look. His family is mixed color and all are equal in His family. The emphasis was on the genetics of the family, they were all created by God in His image, yet they did not look alike in color. In another dream before this, His family of soldiers were sitting at a celebration. Most notable is that each family was grouped by their clothing, not their skin color or nationality. They each wore a different uniform.

  • Bahama Bob (author) said:

That is exactly what the families were like-they were all dressed in similar fashion as a group, but all the groups were unpredictably different. Isn’t that a wonderful difference in how God sees us? Thank you Christine, those are wonderful insights into a dream that drives my life-to bring joy to all people. Bob
